Yin defines the case study research method as an empirical inquiry that investigates a contemporary phenomenon within its real-life context; when the boundaries between phenomenon and context are not clearly evident; and in which multiple sources of evidence are used. Projects that involve research on human subjects, the collection of private or personal information, or the participation of individuals in experiments must be designed in ways that protect the privacy, dignity, and integrity of those who are the subjects of research. Ethics also require that you do not falsify or distort facts, do research fraud or plagiarism by obtaining information and changing it or by not acknowledging your sources. You may not take somebody¿s research and submit it as your own because this can lead to disqualification from the research exercise. Also remember something may legal but unethical as much as some may be ethical but illegal.
