Product Description 11,600 years ago, a mystical continent existed beyond the Pillars of Hercules, Atlantis. There has been much conjecture as to the nature of this mysterious place. The Greek philosopher Plato described it as a magical continent with an advanced civilization that was destroyed by a huge volcanic upheaval and sank into the ocean. "Atlantis - The Adventure Begins" tells the story of Atlantis and its mystery is slowly revealed. Jason and Adam, two young men in search of excitement and knowledge, undertake a voyage that is interrupted when nature forces them to this unknown land. There they encounter a beautiful young woman, Leela, and her family and find themselves entwined in nefarious plots that threaten their lives and the very civilization of Atlantis. About the Author Carl Porter initially achieved success as an Engineer and then progressed though Engineering Management to the Vice Presidential and General Manager level. His professor of English at Ohio State University wondered why he didn't pursue a career in writing. When confronted by the financial risk versus rewards of writing for a living, the professor understood. After achieving a level of financial security, Carl decided he could express his ideas without the need for weekly compensation. To that end, he has written the book "Trilogy of Thought" and published poems in Fields of Gold and America at the Millennium, The Best Poems and Poets of the 20th Century. This is his first attempt in the "fictional world", but has tempered it with a reality that is all too plausible.
