Description
As the brutal Kosi warriors continue to kidnap the women of Talin, fifteen-year old Sab-ra burns to end the slow erosion of her people. She proposes to deliver poison to the kidnapped women to use on their captors. The Elders of Talin approve her idea, but the mission goes horribly awry and Sab-ra's spy partner is murdered. As punishment, the Elders banish her to Maidenstone, an ancient Lamasery in the city of Namché where she nurses her grievances and plans revenge on the Kosi warrior who executed her partner. A year later, when the Harn Army occupies the city of Namché, Sab-ra learns that the Garrison Commander plans to plunder the blue diamond mine of Talin, located in the mystic Skygrass valley. She leaves the city to warn her people. Lost on the trail, she enters the Citadel of the Kosi, ancient enemies of her people, where she meets and falls in love with Say'f the Warrior King. A war ensues and the Kosi are victorious, but an avalanche destroys the Skygrass valley the day after Say'f and Sab-ra are married. Sab-ra rides from Skygrass ahead of the avalanche. Say'f calls out, saying he will meet her in the Valley of the King, but when Sab-ra turns back, Say'f is not following her. He sits astride his great black stallion as the Gate Stones close between them.
