'Biting the Bullet' is the biography of Reg Tallentire, born and bred in County Durham and now aged 92 years. Reg served with three Scottish Regiments during and after World War II: The Black Watch, the London Scottish (Gordon Highlanders) and the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He trained in the UK, North Africa, fought in Italy, was severely injured at Anzio, returned to Italy as a 'D Day Dodger' and ended the war on the Italian/Yugoslavian border. He then spent 18 months in Palestine, before demobilisation. Reg returned to civilian life working in the family car repair business in Bishop Auckland. This is Reg's story of the important events in his life, the people he met and the sights he witnessed.
