'To freely receive love and security from those in a position of trust is the birthright of all children and of animals. Neither should ever suffer abuse at the hands of others'. 'BROOKE' is a gripping story about the underworld of money making criminal activity that includes illegal, organised dog fighting. The protagonist Brooke is a young girl who after discovering that there are numerous domestic pets mysteriously going missing in her UK Lancashire home town sets out with the help of her friend Georgie, to successfully gather evidence of barbaric practices which they hope can then be used in the criminal courts of justice. Brooke faces many challenges in her life including the pre-mature death of her mother, but successfully demonstrates her incredible inner strength in challenging the injustice that so many animals face today at the hands of those who care nothing about the sanctity of life. This story covers a very serious topic and one that unfortunately is increasingly an issue in our society. In this story there have been no punches pulled, however, it has been written in such a way to be a considerable good read that aims to keep the reader interested in the character Brooke. It is recommended for adults over fifteen years of age. Any initial royalties will be forwarded to the UK RSPCA in support of the fantastic work that they do everyday of the year.
