It lead them all over Australia and to as far away places as Paraguay, South Africa and England, sometimes ending in tragic circumstances. Their lives were all intertwined, focussed on the one place, the offices of the Bulletin, where J. F. Archibald manipulated and cajoled them into creating legends.
