Hi, I am the author of ‘CATChing Up!’ I remember a time, when I was not yet a teenager; I use to write many poems and short verses of songs for my mother to hear. The shower, I recalled was always the best time to read them out aloud. However, when it comes to singing time was unlimited, I would sing so loudly or rather scream, she warned, that I could if I am not careful lose my voice. But of course, that did not happen. These poems reflect life in the late 90s and early noughties (00s) and of course recently. The poem {State of mind} was written years ago, it was the first poem written in the early 00s, I wrote this poem after seeing an advertisement online. To enter the competition, you simply write a poem. The poem reflects what immediately happened at the time it was written! Although it was late, I was intrigued and I wanted to win! The words came easily and after I completed the poem, I submitted it. I recalled it was months later, I received emails from the ‘American Poet Society’ the site said, that I won! But I shall not tarry any further. The prize was an invitation to Disney Florida, where I would meet, like-minded people like myself. I lived and worked in London and owned a Property in Pimlico.
