Description
Cell-Based Architecture (CBA) is an innovative approach to distributed system design, which draws on the principles of cell biology to meet the challenges posed by the growing complexity of modern applications. In a biological system, cells are autonomous units capable of performing specific functions while collaborating with other cells to ensure the survival and proper functioning of the organism. CBA applies this same concept to software development, where each "cell" represents an independent processing unit, capable of operating autonomously while interacting with other cells to accomplish larger, more complex tasks. This architecture makes it possible to design resilient systems, i.e. capable of continuing to operate even in the presence of partial failures. Indeed, in a CBA system, each cell is isolated from the others and can therefore fail without compromising the integrity or overall performance of the system.
