Description
The book deals with the fabrication of copper surface composites with different ceramic particulates (B4C, TiC, Al2O3, SiC & WC) using friction stir processing (FSP) method as per the Design of Experiments. The development of the mathematical model and constraint optimization of FSP process parameters to manufacture sound copper surface composites, and to improve the productivity are described in detail. The procedure adopted for making the FSP tool exclusively for processing copper is included. The in-depth microstructural characterization of the surface composites in different aspects such as the distribution of ceramic particulates in the matrix, worn surface morphology, wear debris at higher magnifications is also revealed.
