Dark Boundary is one of the most graphic books I have ever read,on life's struggles in Alaska during the Gold Rush era. If you liked Anne Hobbs Purdys best selling book "Tisha," which has sold millions and was printed in five languages and picked for readers digest condensed books, you will love Anne's first book "Dark Boundary."

isha was the story of Anne Purdy. In Dark Boundary, it is Purdy who does the storytelling. The book is about Ole Hanson, a schoolteacher who lived in the village of Eagle, Alaska. It details her life spent in the Gold Rush era in the Yukon River village, when mining was king and change was happening every minute. — The book is an honest view of the way of life at the turn of the century.
Hanson was a friend of Purdy's, and their lives are parallel. Both came to remote villages to teach, and both eventually adopted Native Alaskan children. Both overcame the hardships of the era and carved out a niche in their villages.
This version of the book was revised by Brian Johnson, the author's descendant, who upon discovering the book was in the public domain, revised it and made it available in this version
