Description
Most of practical charge transporting polymers and low-molar-mass materials used in electrophotography are hole-transporting. Among them arylamines and hydrazones have got most attention of researchers. One of the most secure ways of the preparation of solvent resistant electrophotographic materials is cross-linking or photopolymerization. For this charge-transporting compounds with reactive functional groups are needed. This book which is based on a research study conducted in Lithuania gives an insight to photoinitiated cationic polymerization of vinyl ethers and oxiranes bearing electronically active substituents using iodonium, sulfonium salts and iron-arene complex as photoinitiators. In the next part of work a series of new hydrazones aromatic amines containing reactive vinyloxyethyl group have been designed and synthesized. A set of new amorphous hole-transporting molecular materials have been prepared using the newly synthesized vinyloxyethyl-substituted hydrazones. All the newly synthesized compounds have been fully characterized by a set of spectroscopic methods. Their thermal and photoelectric properties have been studied.
