Book 7 of the Farn Series: After completion of a successful joint battle by Farn and the alien but human Strexx to destroy a Swarm fleet, the leadership of the planet Strexx1 is in favor of an alliance with Farn and its allies in the war against the Swarm. Strexx law requires any such alliance be approved by the leadership of all of the 15 Strexx planets scattered over 150 light years of space on the Farn side of the Galaxy.Farn determines that the Strexx are an extremely regulated society of over 100,000 years by genetic purification based on results of intelligence, psychological testing, and physical conformity. Leadership is selected by these tests and assigned for life. Ensign McMillan is selected to accompany Strexx1 planet envoys to the Capitol planet and approach the overall Strexx leadership for an approval of an alliance. A situation develops that threatens to create a civil war between Strexx1 and the rest of Strexx society.On Earth, information leaked regarding Farn's discovery of alien humans creates additional turmoil between the U. S. and its allies versus opposing countries as well as rekindles the Earth First fringe cults. Tensions between the U. S. Security Agency and Naval Intelligence continue. The artificial intelligence, Frank Newton, remains secret from all but his immediate family and is a key resource in both dealing with the Strexx and resolving situations on Earth.
