From the moment that their magical talents were first discovered at an early age, Taryn and Julia have spent their time training and developing their gifts. Gifts which include the ability to communicate by projecting their thoughts, to use fire to send small objects back and forth, and to combine herbs and flowers to create strong potions. They have become confident and well versed in their enchantment work and have helped to heal the people under their father's protection and nurture the land which they love. They also treasure the bond with their family and enjoy spending time in each other's company. They live with their father Johann and Taryn's young son Thomas in a castle in Scotland. From this castle, Johann rules beneficently over Edinburgh and its environs. Recently, however, everything in their once peaceful world has started to change.
