Description

Dear Reader, There once was a vast, shallow expanse of lonely water. She fell deeply in love with the sun, a very narcissistic and loud creature. She loved him like stars love the moon, worshiping his every movement. One day, the sun rose and the water worked up an immense amount of courage to ask for a single kiss, to which the sun replied with an easy 'no'. Awkward silence passed between the two until the sun sunk into the horizon, not to be seen until the next morning pulled him up. The water cried and cried all night long, waiting for the sun to rise again. Her tears filled a void she begged the sun to fill. Then she fell into a deep sleep, dreaming of a kiss. When the water awoke the next morning, she found her once shallow waters to be filled with depth. She thought her new found deepness would impress the sun, but sadly enough it did not. Again, awkward silence filled the two's day until night came and swept day under the rug. That night, the water worked up a plan in her beautiful head. Morning overtook melancholy night and the water reached for the sun, creating amazing waves upon her still surface, yet the sun still rejected her. Today we call the expanse of water the ocean. The sun is still the same as he was long ago, but the ocean learned her lesson, and will never love again. Do not be like the ocean, my reader, for she was unwise and got her heart broken in the process. Do not be like the sun, dear reader, for he will never find love as willing as the ocean. Earnestly yours, S. Clardy
