Unfortunately, when the picture broke the trauma resurfaced because in her words, "The things we don't confront will never change and will continue to confront us." Fragile and barely hanging on by a thread, she began having panic attacks and eventually was afraid to leave her house. When she sought professional help her therapist recommended that she write the details of her life as a way of purging her past and seeing her life from a new perspective. Going Through is the result of that therapeutic endeavor. Once everything was down on paper, she was able to recognize and change the behavior that resulted from the trauma she experienced during her childhood. Lillyan Jiles's story might be similar to your own story. Take this journey through her life; it is real, raw, but by the grace of God it ends with the type of transformation only God can bring about.
