Alisia went through phases in life and began to seek an escape through writing at the early age of nine. Fighting with low self-esteem and thoughts of suicide while growing up, these feelings guided her writing as a young child. Seeking an escape from her own self-loathing, Alisia sought refuge and healing through church. Making church her addiction, she spent as much time as possible there throughout her teenage years. Selections feature poems filled with angst, religious fervor, and lovelorn feelings. Interspersed with feelings of betrayal and neglect. Some topics deal with a long-suffering mother and alcoholic father. Her most recent works depict a search for love that in the end, although not reciprocated, became a conclusion of self-acceptance.
