Description

Thanks to Google and YouTube videos, we have knowledge at our fingertips. Even the Milky Way Galaxy and the micro world of the electron find understandable explanations on the internet. I've summarized a number of videos from YouTube on astronomy, physics and quantum mechanics in a logical sequence so that the average reader can understand where we came from, what we are made of and where the universe is going. I've mentioned Lawrence Krauss and his theory of Nothing; I've also mentioned Richard Dawkins and The God Delusion. I found John Lennox and Hugh Ross as believers in God to be well-spoken. Roger Penrose has plausible ideas about a cyclical Big Bang with no beginning and no end. It's self-creating, if you will. I've also mentioned other notable astrophysicists, Brian Cox, Brian Greene, Sean Carroll and Carl Sagan. Max Bennett has the notion that the universe might be a gigantic brain that is evolving. Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time also merits a brief explanation in my book, a book on, well, Everything from the first primordial atom to our present cosmos of many galaxies and the possibility of multiverses.
And for those of you who enjoy the world of fantasy, I appended a short science fiction story at the end, of space travel to Centauri b. Brian whose ambition is to become an astronaut has three companions to accompany him on this trip. There's Astra, a cyborg, fully functional, and two zany little robots who have blue hair and are numbered Thing 1 and Thing 2, which Brian renames Number 1 and Number 2, in keeping with Star Trek, the Next Generation. So, let's blast off into inter-galactic space and see if other life is really out there!
