A wedding takes place and the guests are wishing the bride and groom life-long happiness - if only. What follows is an agonising insight which can relate to millions of people around the world. Domestic upheaval, money problems, arguments, infidelity, love, hate, anger, bitterness and regret. Mark Ludlow tries to make something of his life after leaving prison. He moves to London, finds work, studies for a degree, meets and marries Jasmin, the woman of his dreams. They have a beautiful daughter and life seems idyllic. Then his world like so many others before collapses when his wife suddenly leaves, taking their child with her. Mark goes on a dreadful remorse trip taking him half way around the world. One year later he returns to London drunk and drowning in sorrow. A chance telephone call suggests that they are in the States.
