Being a single woman can present life challenges. The challenges of society, insecurities, fears, and failures are a part of what skews our perceptions into believing that being single is a bad thing. However, over the many years of being a single woman, Ona has learned that it has been the best position for learning, developing, and establishing who she is. It is in her singleness that she has found her purpose and focused on implementing everything that is locked up on the inside of her. Society teaches us that we should just be happy with whoever and whatever comes along. They provide us with checklists and thoughts that normally are bias, demeaning, and disrespectful. The norm is to settle for what we do not desire or accept whatever is given, instead of waiting for what we deserve. Contrary to what we have been told, singleness teaches us how to love ourselves before we can begin to love someone else.
