Description
Over the past years the emerging and rapid development of the Internet-related technologies has influenced the way education is delivered in many institutions and universities worldwide. eLearning or electronic learning is no longer viewed as an appanage of distance learning, but as a method meant to complement, assist and enhance traditional teaching methods. This book provides an insight into the eLearning development and technologies used by universities from Romania and worldwide. Moreover, it presents the implementation and use of Podcasting and microformats (Semantic Web standards) in a particular web portal, used by the Distance Learning Centre from the ¿Politehnicä University of Timisoara, Romania. Last, but not least, it offers a thorough assessment of the implemented tools from various perspectives, the most important being the feedback given by students, considered to be the target group of these initiatives.
