Four generations later, Joe Marshall emerges from the small rural town of Crescent, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State University, to be acclaimed as one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Joe never wants to quit playing the game and would have played if they paid him or not. Faced with the end of his professional career in major league baseball, Joe develops a brand of baseball, which his friends call Joeball.
