Building on these historic and strategic foundations, local residents and leaders worked tirelessly toward incorporating La Quinta, with their sustained efforts leading to fruition on May 1, 1982. La Quinta, known as the Gem of the Desert, continues to grow rapidly and flourish, welcoming all to its friendly locale as in days past.
