Description

Leaving the Bubble is a wonderful book that can be used to help explain the concept of death and dying to children in a way they can understand, but for children not yet exposed to death it will just be an interesting story about someone who has to go away. This is a great book for children who have lost a family member, friend or beloved pet or if someone close to them is dying. It also can be of help if someone in the child's life has left for another reason. Experts in death and dying say that there are certain things that people left behind most want to hear from a dying person: I love you, I will miss you, I'm sorry and I forgive you. Each of these are communicated in the book in such a way that even if the person who passed was unable to say those words to the child the child will know that is what the person would have said. This can help prevent unresolved issues from developing within the child later. Leaving the Bubble is written in an interesting, rhyming story style. Excerpt Once upon a time a giant bubble big and round was all around a land known as Pilly Dilly Town. Polly Pully lived in Pilly Dilly Town. She had a nice family and lots of friends all around. One day she got some news that filled her thoughts with trouble. The news was that she was going to have to leave the bubble! Everyone had to leave the bubble at some point that was very true, but Polly Pully never thought it would happen to her or anyone she knew. Once people left the bubble not a single one came back. When people left the bubble they didn't even pack. They just left the bubble no matter what they had going on. One minute they were here. The next minute they were gone. Other times people were told that they had to go. Some could put off going for a while, but for others this wasn't so. ...... If you are looking for a book that explains death and dying in a way that children can understand and that will help them process the death in a way that is good for them, Leaving the Bubble is the book to get.
