They catch the Starr's connection, Rodney Tamert, with the cash and later trace the meth to Starr. Billy Lamb is a homeless man who is the only witness who can put Starr and Tamert together on the night of the drug deal.But the Starr prosecutor, J.D. Hunter, has lost Billy Lamb. Starr's bodyguard chases Billy out of LA, and Billy runs east, hoping to hide in the streets of New Orleans nears the casinos, far from LA. Billy arrives in New Orleans just in time for Hurricane Katrina's landfall on the Gulf Coast, and barely survives its destructive punch. Billy joins up with a group of volunteers coming, along with thousands of others from around the US, to the disaster area to help the area residents rebuild.J.D., at loose ends after his Trial of the Century against L'il Timmy implodes, is drawn to the Katrina relief effort in search of relief from his own despair. J.D. meets Billy working with other volunteers rebuilding the massive area destroyed by Katrina.
