When I read back over everything I ve written about the many faces of Parkinson s disease it strikes me very hard that several of the faces have shown themselves within the past 24 hours not just once but many times We all have the many faces of Parkinson s disease We exhibit them differently and to greater and lesser degrees but we all must struggle with the constant ebb and flow as each face presents itself and then backs away lending room for the next face to appear I have the many faces too Through a collection of short stories the author shows the reader her life with snapshots of time These literary snapshots tell the story of her journey attempting to live in harmony with Parkinson s disease an uninvited guest in her life for over 25 years You can almost hear the southern drawl as she tries to convey to the reader through humor her desire to not be defined by her disease When you read That Sister Thing and My Starr in the East you will see so much more depth to her than simply a disease
