Fractured friendships, awkward reconciliations and unresolved misgivings ... To failed writer and lover, Israel "Izz" Patton, these are supposed to be trusted tools of the trade. But when he is invited to a weekend ski resort birthday celebration for his college friend, Elle "Lucky" Fontenot, Izz fears that these themes may also haunt him. Since the sudden implosion of his life four years ago, he has not seen Lucky or any of the members of their formerly tight-knit group. Eager to end his self-imposed exile, Izz believes that he is prepared to embrace the inevitable individual evolutions his friends have undergone over time spent out of sight, and maybe out of mind.
