About the Author
PETER CARNAHAN is a writer and theatrical director who was for eighteen years Director of the Theatre and Literature Programs of The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. He has directed more than eighty plays, and has written two books of non-fiction, Schooner Master and A Gathering of Actors, and four novels, A Tale of Suliman and Hector, The Ethnic Wars, Second Malvern and Pharnabazus Sits on the Ground With the Spartan Captains. His poetry and prose have appeared in The Paris Review, The North American Review, Boulevard, Tabula Rasa, The Pittsburgh Quarterly Online, U.S. 1 Worksheets and Theatre Research in Canada. In 2006 he began writing an autobiography. The first volume, published in 2009, was titled Opposable Lives. Accumulating Lives is the second. He lives in rural eastern Pennsylvania with his wife, Fran, a magazine editor.
