This volume draws on such materials, plus old engravings, tintypes, and photographs, to illustrate family and community life from the town's 1798 incorporation through the present day. Oxford contains images of industrial and agricultural life, including traditional farms and the nation's longest-running continuously operating mill. Historic images of Oxford's veterans, from the Civil War through Operation Iraqi Freedom, are also included, as are nostalgic photographs of Oxford students, teachers, and schoolhouses.
