More than three thousand years ago, Indian surgeons were able to reconstruct nasal deformities inflicted as punishment using reconstructive procedures. Advances in research and technology have led to significant developments in reconstructive surgery although some age-old procedures like Indian forehead flap for nasal reconstruction continue to be used due to their effective outcomes.
