However, in the time leading up to and during the six-week summer holidays, a group of friends have an extraordinary close encounter. This phenomenon affects each child individually. The group of friends are all from the East End of London and are from differing and diverse ethnic cultural backgrounds and have varied abilities. Through their explosive experiences in their local community, the children's lives are changed forever; yet, despite having challenges and struggles with their own personal problems, they manage to save the day.
