Private detective Maxwell Diamond isn't sure he even has a case when he is asked to look into a car crash that the police ruled a accident. But every time he comes up with a possible suspect they end up dead. Max is sure he has a case when somebody tries to kill him. The investigation leads Max to Philadelphia and Las Vegas, and to a beach where Max gets a sunburn in an embarrassing place.
