Review "Immediately evident is the author's well-polished and professional style...emotions are well-written and ring true to readers."  PREP publishing"The writing paints a very clear picture for the reader...so real you can see and hear the scenes unfolding before your eyes. Payne uses lots of dialogue to tell the story and it reads quite well". Karen Schumer, Reader's Report From the Author While the characters in the book are fictitious, the background history on the environmental issues regarding uranium mines is not.  I hope you enjoy this book and will want to read more to come in the Marin Sinclair series.  Thanks for reading! From the Inside Flap Kidnap, murder, and intrigue confront Marin Sinclair on the Navajo Reservation, and only by escaping into the mountains can she hope to survive.  There she finally confronts both danger and the guilt of her own past in the black depths of a deserted uranium mine. About the Author Jan D Payne grew up in the Four Corners area of the Navajo Reservation, graduating from Shiprock High School before leaving the reservation for colleges in Kansas City, Missouri and Siloam Springs, Arkansas--ultimately attending medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico and Baltimore, Maryland for an M.D. degree, and Regent College seminary in Vancouver, British Columbia for a degree in Christian Studies. She has worked in the medical field in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Wasilla, Alaska; Seattle, Washington; and San Diego, California, and has lived in a variety of places in the US...as far north as the Pribilof Islands in Alaska and as far south as the Sonoran desert in Arizona, with points in between.  She currently resides in the rural lake country of northern Minnesota with her husband and two big dogs, giving talks about death and dying and writing murder mysteries.
