Description

Research Problems in Mechanical Engineering has been solved by Using Seths, B.R. Theory. From chapter seven, It has been seen that higher value angular speed required for disc without edge loading. With the effect of edge loading disc required lower angular speed. It has been seen that for incompressible material required higher angular speed for initial yielding as compare to disc made of compressible material. Rotating disc is likely to fracture by cleavage close to the inclusion at the bore. From Chapter Eight,It is found that the anisotropy of the material has little effect on radial stress but the effect is more prominent on the axial and tangential stresses for higher ratio of anisotropic constants along the radius. The results indicate the maximum stress is not always on the surface.
