A little over two thousand years ago, during an obsolete measure of time referred to as Anno Domini 2020, a convergence of apocalyptic man-made and natural calamities occurred-the End of Days-events that led to the near extinction of the species Homo sapiens.p>

One thousand years after those devastating catastrophes, the residua of the North American population have coalesced into fractured tribal communities; the most dominant of which is Empire Coloradus-a matrilineal theocracy ruled by a sinister cult known as the Sisters of Deliverance.p>

Wolf is one such survivor. He serves as a scout for the Rangers, part of the fighting forces of Empire Coloradus. Wolf rebels against the Empire's brutal doctrines. He proves this when he goes against their teachings while on patrol, to rescue three strangers from a bear attack. One of the three is Princess Saran-gerel of the Vancouv Island nation.

Saran and her community are vassals of the powerful Can-Uck, who are about to lose their homeland to the advancing arctic ice sheets - the effects of a global climate change. The northerners are seeking a new home in the south, but their mission puts them in direct conflict with Empire Coloradus, and other savage communities.

When Wolf is captured by Saran's party, the young ranger begins to form a surprisingly tender connection with the headstrong princess. Is there still love to be found in the wilderness of a devastated North America'p>
