Rise is based on actual life events that have happened. Trials and tribulations that I had to go through to get to. It was my ratchet/embarrassing physical life that I once lived vs the surrendering /embracing spiritual life I now live. I wasn't always like this, I have a past that I will not allow to dictate my future. I was broken and torn into pieces -I had to stop living in the old world and live in the new world. I was a typical party girl. Loved to party, get drunk, get high, and get wasted. A hell of a combination, many times I was dancing with Lucifer. Rude and disrespectful, ugly, careless, with a nonchalant attitude.
I was a lost soul and tried to commit suicide. I was drowning in depression, sin, anxiety, fear, addiction, and shame. I had to see death right before my eyes, losing my dad is what made me gain myself and I had to get right before my time was up. I didn't want to get left behind. How did I become the woman that evolved? I had to stop trying to do it my way and let God lead me and guide me the right way. I started living by the Bible. (Matthew 16:24-26) says, taking up my cross and following Jesus, I had to get rid of the old me and start living in the new me. I wrote this book because I had to do exactly what the title says. I had to let the new me rise and allow the old me to die.
