Jac and her friend Stevie, had dreamed about joining the Army together, but Stevie was found to have a medical condition involving her heart, and was refused on medical grounds. After the initial disappointment, both got on with their lives, and got a job in the local gym. It was while working there, that Jac met Ami; another girl in a long line, everybody thought. Ami wasn't Jac's usual type of girl, she came from wealthy parents, and she had been educated at a private boarding school, along with her younger sister Annabel.
