Wondering what that really reflects, Can I truly find my dreams? Most unsure yet. Who is this person staring back at me? Why can’t I look and honestly see? Am I a good person or am I bad, These questions make me feel sad. Not understanding who I am in my heart, And yet I know it’s time to start. Must gather my inner strength and fight, Knowing by this, I will do what is right. Never again to be held in a cage with bars, Now I know I can fly so very far. Alert to all the dangers of the turmoil inside, Yet knowing now cannot ever truly hide. A woman stares back with tears in her eyes, What is it that makes her so sad? Why does she cry? An urgency I sense within this person in the mirror, Yet I see a woman left unprepared. A new light seems to shine just behind, She can not feel it, is she so very blind? Yet not quite understanding what is wanted of her, Gives way to fear and all that makes her insecure. But also can see the heart and the soul, This is where she will find true love and her goal. Now reality seems to take hold, I am that person now in control. A Storm Of Love I see a storm brewing over the horizon, The winds picking up, energy rising. The limbs on the tree seem to sway in anger; I hear a crackling, feel the danger. No escape from this storm as it blows, Sensing the harshness of the limbs as they bow. Where is the sunshine once surrounding, Where is the music, why is the heart pounding? Within, the heart can feel such dread; Why is the soul sinking as if it were dead? Surviving the turmoil seems futile at times, Yet there is an energy held deep inside. I’ll find that place before the storm, Never allowing it to cause such harm. For where there is love there is a chance, I will find the light, will again sense. Beyond the storm lies the rainbow, Where winds caress, not blow. Where birds sing and the heart is at peace, A world of wonder is held in this place. Love will again light the way to this beyond, Where it will begin again as it once had begun. Nothing can break the limbs if they give, This is sanctuary, this is Love within. This Is My Time To feel the wind against one’s face, To share the joys of love and grace, To be as one with an inner peace, This is my time, this is my place. To sail with the wind high above, To taste salt from tears of love, To escape turmoil deep within the core, This is my song, this is what life is made of. To be unmeasured by another’s heart, To find sanctuary and never depart, To feel joy within from the song of a lark, This is my time, this is my start. To accept the one you have become, To never feel loneliness nor ever alone, To sense what’s inside right or wrong, And to come closer, feeling the warmth of the sun. This is my time, this is my place, This is my world, sailing with grace. This is my love, this is my heart, A life filled with love, a wondrous new start.
