A young woman is commissioned to examine and value the contents of a very large mansion, the home of the Remslick family since mid 1800s. She is astounded at the sheer volume of priceless antiques and painted masterpieces, she finds scattered throughout the mansion. The paintings are the work of Henry Biddulph whose art is exhibited in major galleries throughout the world. Biddulph is a mystery man his origin is unknown. The young woman becomes almost obsessed with the need to discover why so many of the Biddulph paintings are in this home. The suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the wife of the current owner of the mansion, some 2 years before, cloud the young woman’s focus. The reader is taken back to the mid 1800s the time of the Victorian gold rush. Three shepherds and a foppish English ex banker join together to prospect the goldfields. Their association with a Chinese man, his mother, and a beautiful half cast aboriginal girl, leads to the discovery of enormous wealth. Following the sale of their discovery and now independently rich, the group separates to lead new lives. The possession of vast wealth is found to be both a curse and a blessing. The young woman discovers a previously unknown room in the mansion. Her continued investigations unveil intrigue, secrecy and murder, before eventually making The Biddulph Connection.
