Description

The Four That Bind is a slow-burning psychological horror novel that begins with a reckless decision and unravels into something far more sinister. When four teenage boys, Erik, Derek, Marcus, and Caleb, break into a condemned house on Marrow Lane, they expect nothing more than a thrill. Instead, they discover a suffocating labyrinth of decay, hoarded remnants of a life gone wrong, and, hidden deep within, four strange handmade dolls arranged with unsettling intent. Each doll appears unique, constructed from moss, fabric, and binding materials that suggest purpose rather than decoration. Against better judgment, they take the dolls with them, believing they've uncovered nothing more than a disturbing curiosity. But from the moment the dolls leave the house, something shifts. Subtle changes begin to surface, behavior warps, relationships strain, and reality itself seems to fracture around them.As the boys attempt to understand what they've taken, the dolls reveal themselves not as objects but as conduits of forces that influence desire, control, identity, and consequence. Each represents a different aspect of human vulnerability, and as those aspects are triggered, the boys begin to turn on one another and themselves. What started as a dare becomes a descent into psychological torment, where control is an illusion and every action carries a cost. The house may have been left behind, but what it contained has not. Bound together by curiosity, arrogance, and fear, the four must confront a growing truth: some things are not meant to be taken, and once they are, they do not let go.
