Carly, a 19-year-old California native, returns to upstate New York to visit her deceased father's Italian American relatives. There, she's quickly pulled into the continuing saga of her great grandmother Tina, her siblings, and her fiancé, Tommy.

With the depression on their heels, and the country fighting in World War II, Tina, Tommy, and others on the Homefront, support America's troops by sacrificing their lifestyles and working to build up a powerful military force.

When the draft begins to snatch male workers out the factories and other businesses, companies are forced to turn to women to fill their vacant jobs. As a result, Tina's sister, Eva, and many others, get the chance of a lifetime to explore uncharted territory on land and in the sky.

But when the government challenges their immigrant families' loyalty to America, it creates fear and havoc for Tina, Tommy, and the people they love.
