It is the school summer holidays, and Tommy and Trudy Nobleman are bored, that is until their Granddad Archie gives them an old wooden toy chest, at first they think even that looks boring and old, but at midnight on Friday 13th after the first full week back at school, everything changes, Tommy and Trudy are awoken by a blindingly white light pouring out of the toy chest.
