The base of the story is about extra-terrestrial origin of red sphere and is worshipped by people as they perform sacrifices. This story whirls around Bassett, a scientist collecting butterflies in the jungle of Guadalcanal. When he incidentally by chance discovered a large red sphere worshipped by the local people, he forgets about his original aim and becomes obsessed with the Red One and in the end he sacrificed himself.
