XIAHOU, an ancient warrior from the past, BAO, a boy from the present, and EVE, a synthetic humanoid from the future, are snatched from their times by a dimensional rift that deposits them in another world. They and a robotic D.O.G journey through forbidden lands filled with dragons and hypnotic eyed crab monsters - until they reach the SERVER kingdom, an outpost ruled by an ancient woman named GAMMA. After scanning them, Gamma believes Xiahou and Eve are the heroes of her visions; the ones who'll rescue her kingdom from the evil SEEKERS. The Seekers, once scientists on a world that developed a deep mistrust of science, fled their home for a world where they could pursue knowledge freely. To act as their caretakers, they brought the Servers. After hundreds of years, the Seekers became oblivious to anything save their quest for knowledge while the Servers increasingly became their slaves. The Servers revolted and left the Seekers to fend for themselves. They've maintained a peace, until now...
Gamma imprisons Bao as a Seeker spy just as the outpost is attacked by flying robot spiders. These spider drones shoot webs that entangle their victims and then carry them away. Our heroes are captured but D.O.G tracks them to the metallic Seeker City and frees them. In the Seeker City, they discover a hive compound filled with hundreds of cocooned Servers being kept in stasis. They free the cocooned captives when the spider drones attack. Bao flees... abandoning his new friends, and soon finding himself wandering the Seeker's totally empty city...
