Wasted Salt is the fictionalized narrative of two marginalized immigrant women trying to find their way in America. Zahra is a Lebanese refugee sponsored by a Baptist church in Wichita, Kansas. Noor, an Egyptian American, is a webcam model who shares a musty basement room with Zahra. During the holy month of Ramadan, Noor, who was born into a Muslim family, doesn't get naked in front of a camera; instead, she cleans houses with Zahra along as her helper.
