In the exclusive yacht marinas of the south coast of England, dead bodies are being washed up. All are female, all are blonde. In the seaside town of Bournemouth, Molly throws a party to celebrate her 24th Birthday, with her married sister Jools. The following day Jools leaves a note and vanishes; she is blonde. With the police too busy to listen, it is left to Molly and her band of friends to find her. As Molly unravels the secrets of her sister's less than perfect marriage, she is shocked to find that not only did her sister's husband desperately want a divorce so he could marry a rich American socialite, her sister, bored and alone, had spent the long hot summer on a rich friend's yacht moored in Chichester Marina, and had apparently had a brief affair. Jools is in hiding, fearful for her life and that of her unborn child. Molly must locate and save her sister before the killer strikes again, but the killer is already amongst her close friends and actually dating Molly. He is a dangerous psychopath, obsessed with finding Jools, who is in his word "belongs to him." Molly is no shrinking violet and when she finds Jools ad both are captured, it is she who fights to win the day, but who is her true adversary, maybe not just her boyfriend?
