As technology is evolving we as a society are still having students who are having difficulties keeping up with the pace. Studies have revealed that implementing computer based technology in the classroom has aided teachers in developing literacy skills at a faster rate compared to the traditional chalk and board. Teachers are using their smart boards to access the internet. This advantage increases the knowledge base of students, exposing student to National geographic site and educational videos on You Tube enhance classroom lectures. Websites that are created with educational games increase phonics awareness, letter recognition, spelling comprehension and other subject areas. Computer Based Technology also facilitate students with disabilities by using graphics, animation, video, speech to text and including musical sounds to help with retention in all students.
