'Witching Hill' is a novel about an estate cursed by the bad deeds of an evil nobleman where the residents become infected with his supernatural malice. Ernest William Hornung was born in Middlesbrough, England in 1866. Raffles, a "gentleman thief" plying his trade in Victorian London.
